This Thursday we invite you and all of your friends to visit the Louisville offices of Senators Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul to demand that they stop Trumpcare before it devastates millions of Americans’ lives.
Truth Matters & IndivisibleKY are organizing a collective office visit to both Senators’ offices to let them know Louisville does not support Trumpcare.
The way the Senate healthcare bill is being written and hidden from the public is unacceptable and we need to make that clear. Because Mitch McConnell is trying to ram this nightmare bill down the throats of the American public before the July 4th break without any debate or public input, this may be the final week for us, as citizens, to weigh in. Mitch needs to end to his clandestine, back room health care bill meetings and open the bill up to transparent debate and discussion; Rand Paul needs to get off the fence and denounce Trumpcare once and for all.
Date: Thursday, June 22, 2017
Time: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Location: Louisville offices of McConnell (601 W. Broadway Room 630) and Paul (600 Dr. Martin L King Pl #1072)
Organized By: IndivisibleKY & Truth Matters (an informal citizen coalition)
Social Media: Stay Up To Date On Facebook
Meet us outside the Federal Building (601 W Broadway) any time between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM Thursday to make your voice heard. Bring as many friends, family, and allies as you can – we want the visitation line to be good optics for media!
- Get your photo taken outside with cardboard Mitch dressed as the Grim Reaper (#TrumpcareKills #DeathByMitch) which we will be posting and tweeting all day.
- Bring water for hydration and hat/umbrella for shade, if you need.
- We’ll go up two by two (or more, depending upon our numbers) to express our concerns and leave so the next two can go in. We won’t allow the office to get any work done except hearing our concerns – sand in the gears! We’ll have messaging points available if you’re unsure of what to say.
We’ll also be lobbying Rand Paul’s office around the corner (600 Dr. Martin L King Pl #1072), as he is currently on the fence regarding Trumpcare. It is extremely important to try to push Paul into the “NO” column (even if it’s from the other side of the issue), so we strongly encourage everyone to pay his office a visit as well.
Constituents going up to the office will go through security.
**NOTE: Because it is a federal building you cannot take photos, videos or audio recordings. If someone does, we risk having everyone turned away, so this is paramount.
